











| | What's a CSO? A Community Service Officer (CSO) is a non-sworn civilian employee who is highly skilled in several areas that typical police officers may not be. Besides being the Animal Control Officer, our CSO's provide many other services. Their duties include: - staffing the Police Desk,
- handling vehicle lockouts,
- writing parking tickets,
- completing private property accident reports,
- assisting officers by directing traffic at accident scenes,
- inspecting/installing child car safety seats,
- taking reports of minor thefts of bicycles, license plates, and driver's licenses
Community Service Officers work varying shifts, interact with the public, apply common sense, and use discretion when dealing with sensitive information. Interested in applying for a Community Service Officer position?- CSO applicants must have a valid driver's license and a high school diploma. They must pass the testing procedure which includes, but not limited to, written examination, oral interview, typing test, background investigation, polygraph test, psychological test and upon a conditional offer of employment, a complete physical examination and drug screen.
