Car BurglariesLike many surrounding communities, the Rolling Meadows occasionally experiences a car burglaries often to UNLOCKED vehicles. In many cases the vehicles are parked in the driveways of the victims' houses. Personal items taken in these crimes are often left in open view such as on seats, floors, consoles, dashboards, or in storage compartments and glove boxes. The list of property stolen has included navigation systems (GPS units), cell-phones, cameras, laptop computers, cash & loose change, purses, wallets, small packages, cigarettes, CDs & the books used to store them, and other items of value. We at the Rolling Meadows Police Department are asking that residents assist in deterring these crimes of opportunity. We also ask that everyone witnessing crimes and suspicious persons or activities call 9-1-1 IMMEDIATELY. Anyone with any information may contact the Crime Tips Hotline anonymously by calling 847-255-2416 and then pressing 7. While these crimes tend to escalate during the holiday season, they can and do occur year round. We suggest always following these prevention tips:
