CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS
|
Carbon Monoxide is an odorless, tasteless, colorless gas that is
deadly. It is a by-product of a fuel burning process. It can cause symptoms that
can mimic a flu and result in unconsciousness and even death. Many appliances
around the home are capable of producing Carbon Monoxide when a fault or unusual
condition exists. Since the source may be transient in nature, the source
may not always be detectable. Please dial 9-1-1 if
your Carbon Monoxide Detector activates. Your life may depend on
it

RESIDENTIAL KNOX BOX
|
A residential "Knox Box" program has been implemented
recently. A Knox
Box is a hardened steel case that fits over a resident’s door
that can only be accessed by on-duty firefighting and medical personnel. The box
generally will contain key(s) to gain entry to the house. This has been proven
beneficial for chronically ill or disabled persons, either temporary or
permanently disabled. With use of the Knox Box, the fire or medical personnel
will not have to use forcible entry techniques to gain entry to the house, which
sometimes lead to damage. If you would like more information on this program,
please call 847-397-3352.

SMOKE
DETECTORS |
Smoke Detectors save lives; change your battery twice a
year. An easy way to remind yourself to do this is to "Change your clock,
Change your battery." A battery change in your smoke detector can be
the difference between life and death in a fire. The team will also assist you
in the installation of your detector if needed. Please call 847-397-3352 for
more information.
