Land use and development in the City is regulated by the Zoning Code and Subdivision Regulations. Orderly growth, compatible land uses and an adequate infrastructure are goals of the program.
A review and approval process is necessary to address the various development proposals or variance requests. Public hearings afford members of the community an opportunity to have input into the decision making process. The Plan Commission or Zoning Board of Appeals are the bodies that conduct the public hearing and render a recommendation or decision on requests.
