The Police Department has implemented an Alternative Reporting System to handle minor calls for service that do not require the response by field patrol personnel. This system is intended to increase the availability of patrol time through the utilization of more efficient reporting procedures.
The Alternative Reporting System is available for citizen use on a voluntary basis in select incidents under certain conditions. Callers will be referred to 1 of 3 options instead of an immediate officer response to include our online reporting system. The types of reports that a caller can file are:

The Alternative Reporting System is popular and convenient for many callers. The Police Telecommunications Officer will assist you in deciding the option that best suits your individual situation.
The desk officer reviews all reports received through the Alternative Reporting System. When additional follow-up is required, the incident is referred to the Patrol or Investigations Division.
Police Officer Response
Under no circumstances will a caller be denied a police officer response to their location if the caller specifically requests an officer response.
